If you didn’t know before you will now, I luuurrve my coffee. Its important to me, a ritual of getting ready in the morning, my get up and go juice.
Bialetti Moka Express Aluminium Stovetop coffee maker (6 cup as one is never enough). We have used this for over a year now and decided to buy a second for the van. We have made instant, filtered and Nespresso coffee, this by far produces the best flavour and consistent taste (you need to choose your coffee grounds to suit your flavour but you get what I mean). Making a coffee for me is like a ritual, opening the bag and getting that coffee smell invading your senses, pouring the water into the base and tapping down the coffee into the filter.
It uses a gas top stove, perfect for the van as its not using electricity. It means my mornings can start in the same way as home, the only difference I can slide the door open and be greeted with the outdoors immediately.
Its simple to use, unscrew the bottom take the filter part out, fill with water to the line and pop the filter back on top, add your coffee, screw pot part back on. Place on the gas stove and wait for the aroma to hit your nose and instantly start making you feel alive. I also like to have my coffee with double cream this helps with the flavour and also great for keto getting those extra fats in the keep me feeling full. I like to spoil myself even when in the camper, its not all compromise.
Its a 6 cup but I don’t drink espresso, so it really is only two cups of normal coffee with cream.
Clean up is easy unscrew the parts tip your coffee grounds into a tub and take it to the shower and use it as a scrub to exfoliate and energise your shower routine..I love a multi purpose item ask anyone. Rinse out the compartments, it does say not to use any soap on the areas the coffee touches so its a quick rinse out and your loyal morning servant is ready again.
If you fancy trying one of these stove top coffee makers there’s a link to the one I use Camping cutley” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>cutlery sets I purchased 4 they are amazing and have their own pouches so no rattling!!!! Anyone with a motor home or campervan will know the battles of the rattles..
Look at the selection. 2 straws 2 drinks what more could I want!!
So I made things more simple I put all the knives and big spoons together and the forks and small spoons then the straws and cleaners, its one less pouch and spoons and knives are like breakfast companions toast or cereal, (I suppose I was thinking along those lines). Anyway a week away and it seemed to work well enough.
They really are good. Stainless steel heavy duty not going to bend on cutting your sausage..lol, we’ve all been there when your camping knife and fork have no guts and bow under the pressure of a salad leaf. I then just use my big survival knife to do the heavy duty chopping and that’s all we need.
The week away was a true testament to these two products, they worked well, were functional and great quality, there really is no compromise with choosing these for your camping/campervan/motorhome kit.
This is just a short review of a couple of things we use, if your outdoorsie you might find this helpful, if not it might be suitable reading while your using the toilet! haha
Enjoy the everyday go out and grab yourself an adventure!!!
Until next time….
